I updated my firefox from 15 to version 16 beta 1 and also updated to the latest version of flash.

I now have extremely high CPU laod on any page and particularly on JavaScript and Flash intensive ones like facebook.com and www.erepublik.com

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can also try to disable hardware acceleration in the Flash player and disable protected mode in the Flash player

OK. So here is what I have done: 1) Created a new profile for Firefox. 2) Disabled hardware acceleration. 3) Disabled WebGL. 4) Disabled protected mode for Flash. 5) Disabled hardware acceleration in Flash (actually it wasn't enabled) 6) Run firefox in SafeMode 7) Disabled every plugin except for "Shockwave Flash 11.4.402.265"

After all of this the problem is still apparent. Firefox is strugling to open every site. On some it takes 5-10 secs, the whole browser hangs etc.

I will try to install Firefox 15 and will reply with the result.

So I installed Firefox 15.0.1 (BTW it is really nice to have the full version number, not just FF 16 like in the Beta). Reverted everything from my last post (reenabled everything and went to my old profile) and it's perfect. Firefox runs as smooth as always (before 16-th version). I am sorry to tell you this guys but I have been in the beta channel from version 5 or 6 and this is the first time that I am disappointed with that. And if the final version doesn't adress this issue I will be forced to stop using Firefox as my main browser (been doing so since version 1 !!!).

Forgot to tell you that the sunspider test took ages to complete with Firefox 16 (Not the result - it's close to that of Ff15 but the time needed to test it)
