There are many different programs and add-ons for saving videos. Some of these are from sketchy publishers and might be disabled by your security software, so if one keeps disappearing on you, maybe try another.
If you check your extensions here, is the video-related one listed and Enabled? Does it have an Options button to configure it?
orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category
If you don't see it, you can post a list of your extensions here to see whether anyone else can spot it. You can copy the list from this page by selecting the table under the Extensions heading:
Help > Troubleshooting Information
When you paste here, the format won't look very good, but many volunteers should be able to read it.
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible:
- "View > Toolbars"
Open the Customize window to set which toolbar items to display:
- View > Toolbars > Customize
- Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout
- Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
- If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
- If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
- If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up

You can check for problems with the localstore.rdf file if the above didn't help.
Difficulties response. After having posted my diificulty with Addons and having downloaded a program and then got confused and followed up on the addon instructions that I found in Google which never did help me and can only assume I erred along the line but what amazes me is that I downloaded a file then installed it and saw no signs of addon options in Firefox 16.0.2 I looked at tools then saw addons and got many more options like addons Plugins extension etc and wasn't getting anywhere hence my joining in with you supporters in the Suppoort Mozilla community. So I promptly formatted my entire C Drive as I was concerned about waking up to a severe bump because I haver no idea what went on in my struggle re addons. I restored my backups I made 15 days ago and added the final touches like backed up personal files and now have it up and running. Thanks a million for your offers of help and advice. I will leave the idea of Firefox Addons for the time being. I find it stressful when can't get matters right. It is good that a community of supporters from SupportMozilla is there to help us and if possible will help too if capable. Once again I thank you to those that offered me help and advice. Difficulties.
