How can I stop Firefox from asking me whether to share my location every time I visit a new page, after I've repeatedly answered Never Share My Location?

hello mick99, you can disable the geo-location feature generally: enter about:config into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up), search for the preference named geo.enabled and double-click & change its value to false.

hello mick99, you can disable the geo-location feature generally: enter about:config into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up), search for the preference named geo.enabled and double-click & change its value to false.
You can also manage all permissions on the about:permissions page via the location bar.
Use "All Sites" to set the defaults.
You can open about:xxxx pages via the location bar like you open a website.
Firefox uses the about: protocol to access internal Firefox (setting) pages.
Thanks to both of you!
I did all this but still whenever I open Google maps it promptly zeroes in on the city I live in. Is it that Google uses another way to find where you are which Firefox can't prevent?
hello humb23, websites can also approximate your location by the ip address your ISP is assigning to you - there's no way around that (without using a vpn service or a proxy which disguises your ip address).
Thanks for that answer and for the link. I'm seeing it's a pretty good site.
