Firefox v.17 completly froze
I've been using Firefox V.17 for two-three days now and just a moment ago FF completly froze and this is second time that happends, first it happend yesterday, I was surprised...I couldn't close it on X button on window or anything ,completly froze, and in Task manager memory on FF is frozen two not growing or dropping it was fixed the whole time when he froze, then I end task, and reopen FF.
I am using few extensions and 3 plugins but they are not connected to this problem, I mean they can't froze whole window and stopped FF from working, they could slow him down, but froze completly, I don't think so.Do you know anything about this, what is happening ?

Try resetting firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems#w_how-do-i-reset-firefox-to-its-default-state If it dosen't work you can try uninstalling add-ons individually until you find the problem addon. You also may want to try updating the add-ons to work with the new firefox. (firefox>add-ons>[gear in the upper right corner]>check for updates)
first of all as I already said it's not add-ons or extensions they didn't do that, and they are all up to date, whats the point of reseting browser If I install this new v.17 three days ago, I just don't see a point of reseting browser who is installed recently.
If the problems stated after the update, perhaps an error in the update was causing the problem. Resetting fox may fix that problem.
In the case of add-ons, sometimes compatibility problems can arise especially with new updates to firefox and certain ones are known to cause firefox to freeze completely.
I didn't update, I download version 17 remove all trace of v16 from Roaming, local, program files and registry and then install v17 so it's fresh install.
Last update that I got was greasemonkey v1.5 but let's say that it is some extension or plugin which I think it's not, he wouldn't froze browser completly memory would still rise or fall, but this is so strange memory froze just like browser no response or anything I just had to end task firefox.exe there was no other way to shut it down, I did experience ff to froze before on other computers and other versions, but this is different than before.

Today he froze but not the same like yesterday and day before that, today flash eat a lot of memory like 1.300.0+K then I end task him and reload all sites and it was all good again, again this is not same froze thing that I had yesterday and day before, I see that FF have a lot of issues with flash eating memory and himself with memory two, try and work on that, just a friendly suggestion.

I did a little research on my own, my FF got frozen today all like I wrote up browser and memory, and what I did is kill flashplayerplugin.exe in task and he was back, but had to reaload all tabs, so It's definitely some problem with flash in firefox. I am using latest flash version.
i had to reinstall version 16 0 2 because version 17 kept crashing my dell win 7 64 bit computer blue screen ofdthj everytime i loaded firefox.never had that problem before.
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
I'll try this, and let you know if problem is still there. Btw I have latest drivers for my gpu nvidia gts 8800 512Mb
Will that effect on quality of videos when I'm watching them as 720p, 1080p HD ?

Videos are handled by a plugin like Flash and that plugin has its own hardware acceleration setting, so disabling HA in Firefox shouldn't make a difference.
You may only see a difference on special bench marking pages that do a lot of image manipulations or use WebGL or WebM that Firefox handles internally.
I use sometimes webGL and webM, not often...I don't understand why is browser doing that if it's that HA I mean I have latest drivers, that shouldn't happend...

What I also noticed is when I turn off hardware acceleration letters on sites, forums are more closer together and space between text is smaller two, I don't like that at all.

It didn't help still freezing occasionally. Definitely some problem with flash in firefox and eating memory in both of them.

no one knows ?
You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
- disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
- disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
I didn't reply for a while becouse I was testing if FF would work normal by disabling this options you said, and the answer is no, it's same, it's still freezing sometimes, it just stop, and then I go to task manager and end task flasplayerplugin.exe and everything unfroze. My guess will be that flash player have some problems with FF and he always did, with eating a lot his memory(3 process: plugincontainer.exe and 2x flashplayerplugin.exe), stability and so on...
