"options" is not listed on tools menu
"Options" is not listed on my pull down Tools menu. I am trying to prevent .pdf files from opening in excel and apparently need to access options to do so.

On the Mac, that dialog is here:
Firefox menu > Preferences
Tools-> Options is for Firefox/Thunderbird on Windows.
