hello LillyMartz44, depending on your connection speed it shouldn't take longer as a few seconds to 2-3 minutes. in case you're having problems with the standard-installer, please try the full installer instead that can be obtained from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
Check with your provider about how fast your service is and ask them to test the line.
