Typing numbers in address bar takes me to a server
When I go to a new tab and type "24", the result comes as
Unable to connect Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 24.
But i am not trying to connect to a server. I am just trying to use the address bar as a search place and I am trying to google information about the TV Show "24". I want firefox to go to google and show me search results for "24", not try to connect to a server.
How do I fix this? This is a recent problem with firefox 27 i think

If the number isn't in your browsing history, the addressbar search assumes that is part of an IP address.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.
I suppose so thats what is happening, but this never happened before. What changed? How can I change it back?
