slow/jerking scrolling in Firefox for MAC

Firefox is frustrating as when on a web page, scrolling up and down is slow to respond and moves in stages. A scroll can be instigated but nothing happens and then it jumps a bit.

Sometimes it seems Ok but this never lasts. A new update is ready to install, maybe that will fix it

Type about:config in the URL and filter general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS change the value as 1000 and try it.

If, it doesn't work try this

Type about:config in the URL and filter mousewheel.enable_pixel_scrolling and change the value as false
