Except where noted, everything here applies to both Firefox 117 and the Firefox 115.2 ESR. Firefox 115 is the current ESR so, going forward, only fixes will be backported to the Firefox 102 ESR.

Policy Updates

  • The ExtensionSettings policy has been updated to support default_area. This was done in Firefox 113, but wasn't documented at the time.

Special Notes

This is the last planned release of Firefox 102 ESR; it will go out of support on September 26, 2023. Users will then be automatically upgraded to the Firefox 115 ESR.

If you need to prevent upgrades for any reason, you can use the new AppUpdatePin policy.

If you have run into any problems upgrading to Firefox 115, please open bugs as soon as possible.

Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 Support

We are ending support for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. Users of Firefox on these versions of Windows will be moved over to the Firefox 115 ESR and will be supported until September 2024.

We are ending support for macOS 10.12, 10.13 and 10.14. Users of Firefox on these versions of macOS will be moved over to the Firefox 115 ESR and will be supported until September 2024.
