So my internet speed is around 100 Mbps but i only get 10 to 12 Kbps when download a small file, idk why because i tried using ethernet and it is still 10 to 12 kbps (sorry for bad english)

It takes several seconds, when I write the first letters of a contact from the adressbook, before the full adress is propose. In this time thunderbird is frozen, I can do nothing else in thunderbird (Notebook Asus, WIN 11). The problem is noticed since some months, I didn't succeed with safe-mode or new installation of TB. my Thunderbird account doesn't retrieves my mail correctly. I have four accounts with the provider Mail.de. Since round about three weeks Thunderbird retrieves all these mails just over night. During the day I receive them just sporadically or not at all - even when I try to retrieve them manually. Also Thunderbird will not synchronise my mail accounts on my phone, tablet and notebook. When I log in with my mail provider I have no problems. The mails are there and I can open and read them. But Thunderbird will not retrieve them. I'm able to send mails but they are not copied into the sent folder and/or I get a error message that they could not be saved in the sent folder or not be sent at all. So I'm never sure if they are sent or not. My google mail account has no problem. With that one I can send and receive mails with Thundrbird without problems.

I contacted my mail provider Mail.de but they said, with my accounts is everything allright. So the problem has to be with Thunderbird. The selfdiagnosis of Thunderbird shows no errors.

I hope very much that you are able to help me. I have Thunderbrid since years and I'm very happy with this program. When you need further information for the bug-fix let me know please.

I am writing as recently I noticed that extreme amount of data was written on my system SSD. Here we are talking about 100-200GB of data written daily. In resource monitor I found that Firefox is writing this amount of data in its Profiles folder, but only when Facebook's main page is open. I also noticed that when only the Messenger part is open the problem goes away. Currently I symlinked the Profiles folder onto one of my HDDs so the data is being written there, however I would like to know if anyone experienced the same issue and what could be the solution for this. I completely reinstalled Firefox, my installed extensions are Adblock Plus, Enhancer for youtube and Facebook Container.

I'm using Firefox 134.0.2 (64-bit) and Windows 11. I have my taskbar set to Never Combine. I don't use tabs. I recently got a new computer with Win 11 and am noticing this issue:

Let's say I have a bunch of Firebox windows open and I want to close a window towards the right of the screen. My normal method is to right click on that Firefox taskbar window and click Close Window. But now when I right click on the Firefox icon in the taskbar, the pop up dialog box doesn't appear near my mouse cursor, instead it appears in the middle of the screen, away from my mouse cursor. It used to appear right near my mouse cursor. How can I get the pop up dialog box to appear near my mouse cursor again? See picture.

I only have 2 extensions: Adblock Plus and New Tab Override. I tried disabling both, but it didn't fix my issue.

I have my settings configured so that when I close the window with all my current tabs, I can reopen it and have the same exact window saved after closing them and shutting down my computer. This has worked perfectly fine until a week ago. Now when I start up my computer and open firefox, the window opens briefly and then closes on its own. I've checked and theres no crash reports. Each time this happens I open firefox again and get a completely new window and I have to go into history recently closed windows to get the original window open and then take great care to make sure the other window is closed first. The first time this happened I was really unfortunate and lost tabs I had opened for years. I would really like a functioning browser again.

During multiple attempts searching for map directions, the site tries to load, but fails. The transition area view remains blank, and the content inside the address field blinks.

I also have a screen recording, but I don't know how to include it here. Can i get advice on that?

I've used Firefox for many years. The past month or so weather radar doesn't come up on multiple weather sites, pages are slow to load or don't load, getting error codes on video's, pictures don't always load, and many other problems. I uninstalled Firefox and re-installed the current browser and I still have all these problems. I'm having to use another browser now. I run Windows 11 on my PC.

Recently I have noticed that my SEND box was not being updated right away. As if there was some kind of delay. I have also some send message that do not show in my SEND box despite being sent and received by the recipient. I have Version 128.6.0esr (64-bit) Any idea?

When accessing www.gsp.ro and scrolling up and down it feels very choppy like a frame rate drop down.

The issue doesn't seem to happen in another browser or accessing different websites with Mozilla.

My Subject: Thunderbird Performance Issue on New Ubuntu LTS PC

We are experiencing a performance issue with Thunderbird on a new PC running Ubuntu LTS Linux. We have two PCs with Ubuntu installed, one with the last and one with the current LTS:

On older, less powerful device where Thunderbird runs significantly better. A new PC with better hardware, more RAM more CPU cores etc where Thunderbird is extremely slow.

Both PCs are configured with the same email accounts. We did fully copy profile frm old to new to not lose any mails. However, on the new device, Thunderbird causes full CPU utilization after startup and becomes unresponsive for a considerable amount of time, every time we start. Working with it is almost impossible and painful.

Here’s what we’ve tried so far on the new PC:

Running Thunderbird in Safe Mode. Reinstalling Thunderbird without using Docker. (apk and bash commands) Unfortunately, neither of these steps resolved the issue. We suspect the problem might be related to the current Ubuntu LTS version. As already told the old computer outperformes the new one abt thunderbird.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem or found a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated. What or how to test next?

Any more detail needed? I might get the hardware specs and mailbox sizes but as said newer computer is slower and mailboxes are the same.

There is a bug in Firefox Browser where it doesn't allow you to scroll up in the chat during the livestream and keep your place there to read a message. It auto scrolls down to the new messages everytime a new message appears in the chat.

Firefox is the ONLY browser that does this so it must be a bug. Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, etc none of these do this. It is especially problematic in livestreams with many viewers and an active chat, making it impossible to read a previous message if you want.

It happens on all platforms, twitch, kick, YouTube, Parti, Rumble, anything with a live chat

I am experiencing discoloration on the top left corner of my firefox browser theme when I am in "full screen view". The discoloration disappears when I exit from full screen mode to "window view". This discoloration is happening on every theme I enable. I have attached two pictures to show what I am seeing between the full screen view and window view.

I am running Windows 11 and have a 32" curved monitor. I searched for solutions such as disabling hardware acceleration, but nothing seems to be working.

Any help would be really appreciated!

By using Process Explorer or Process Hacker or maybe task manager, I hope you can also verify that Firefox consumes a few GDI handles per open tab. Windows has a global limit and a per process limit of 10000. GDI objects are used for windows, for the file save dialog and also for user interface elements like buttons or lists. However many applications like Firefox draw everything themself like XUL etc. But still, Firefox consumes 3 handles for me (verified on another computer) per open tab.

If you have a lot of tabs open (for reasons not to be discussed in this topic) this can be problematic. If it reaches 10000 windows will not create more. Sometimes firefox hangs, but often Fullscreen (e.g. youtube videos) will not work and the gui will disappear. Also the context menu will not open and the save dialog cannot work and is hidden.

Am I the first to report this? I did not find anything. Can this be fixed? Can I post this to bugzilla?

Can anyone confirm this? The latest version does not fix it.

I have a development copy of my website that I run directly from my local disk. I have indexes with links to pages that I load in frames. When the target is another frame, the link will not work. This stopped working when I did the last update to Version 134.0.1 The links work when I load my online version from HostGator.
