Once i have downloaded the updated file and tried to install it i get the following error:

The operation can’t be completed because some items had to be skipped. For each item, choose File > Get Info, make sure “Locked” is deselected, and then check the Sharing & Permissions section. When you are sure the items are unlocked and not designated as Read Only or No Access, try again.

I have checked the rights and they look fine. and it's not "locked" I have tried using my account ( which as W&R Privileges ) and another account, both are admin accounts.

Please advise...

Jon

Hello Jon, if exist a problem with update or permissions then the better way is to download the new version, trash the current Firefox application and then install the new one.

1. Download a copy of the latest firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html

2. Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean install.

3. Install the version that you have downloaded.
