Why doesn't Thunderbird automatically update?

I have it set to automatically update. I'm not sure if it has ever done that or not. I regularly check it by manually updating from Help> About Mozilla Thunderbird. It did not update to version 60.2.1 this time. I know it was released about 3-weeks ago. I found out about the new version through my Avast Free Antivirus program about 3- weeks ago. I updated it through my Avast program & sure enough it showed the update on my laptop computer's programs & features.

The question is why doesn't it update through Mozilla Thunderbird program? Could it be something in my settings or what could you suggest I try?

The update from 52 to 60 will not be universally available from Help/About until some add-on and deployment issues are fixed. Even when it's active, it won't initially be available to all users at once. However, there is nothing wrong with doing the upgrade manually, as long as you're aware of these issues.
