After Windows performed some updates a couple of weeks ago, Thunderbird started freezing on-and-off every time I used it. In addition, whenever I opened Thunderbird, other programs, such as Microsoft Word, also start freezing. If I re-start my computer and do not open Thunderbird, the other programs work.

Thanks!

Can't rule out hardware failures.

Also, please start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled - win10 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode

Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird
