Hi, I still use K9mail as my primary email client. I've been testing Thunderbird for Android for a little while now. Here's my issue:

When I delete an email in thunderbird and sync with the server, I go back to K9mail and sync there too. But the deleted emails are still showing up in my inbox. Am I impatient or is this a real bug?

Hello, I just organized Thunderbird mobile on my samsung tablet. On the desktop Thunderbird shows a menu and a adress book. When I get an Email I can save the mail adress in my adress book. But, Thunderbird mobile doesn't show a menu nor a adress book an it does not use the contact saved at the tablet. Can anyone help me to solve this problem? thanks a lot!! Regards, Monika

Hallo, kürzlich habe ich Thunderbird mobil auf meinem Samsung Tablet installiert. Leider zeigt die App keine Menüleiste und keine Option eines Adressbuches. Dazu greift Thunderbird auch nicht auf gespeicherte Kontakte zu. Bei der Desktopversion wird sowohl die Menüleiste als auch ein Adressbuch angezeigt. Hello, I'm trying VPNs, but have found that sending mail by Thunderbird for Android is blocked by 4 different VPNs on two different devices with 4 different protocols, while email sending by TypeApp is not. Any ideas?

Hello, I have authorised notifications in the Thunderbird application for Android, but I don't receive any when I receive emails. For your information, in Account Settings > Notifications, I checked the first box "Notifications of new emails" and the fifth box "Synchronisation notifications". What's more, in the "Notification categories" section (further down), in the screen that opens before "Emails", the "Alert" and "Application icon badges" boxes are ticked, and there's a sound associated with the "Sound" heading. In attempting to compose an email, TB does not recognize any contacts when I start typing the first few letters of their email address nor when I try typing their name as it appears in phone contacts. First installed TB on this new phone just a couple days ago, and my recollection is it was working fine. But then I went ahead with the Android 14 update, and after that is when TB seemingly forgot all contacts/email addresses. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling TB, but that made no difference.

When will composing/writing, sending and receiving HTML emails be available, possible in Thunderbird for Android? I know this HTML functionality is not available in K-9 email on Android, but it is available in Thunderbird, Thunderbird Desktop on all other platforms like Windows, Linux and MacOS except Android.

Hi folks, thanks for the amazing Thunderbird on Android.

I have a couple of observation I'd like to share.

1. When the device's theme is set to dark and Thunderbird follows, some parts of the email body becomes unreadable. This is not the case with Gmail (this is a Gmail account). I am attaching screenshots for this (1.jpeg for Gmail, 2.jpeg for Thunderbird). Is this an expected behavior?

2. The app seems to use green and violet colors for email body by default. And, it misses some of format colors of the email body itself. That is something I do not prefer. Is there a reason why Thunderbird chose this color and formatting? Is there a way to change the colors? Again attaching screenshots for this (please note the arrows I made especially, 3 for Gmail and 4 for Thunderbird and two others I did not number showing the green format (from Udemy)).

3. There are format problems with the Thunderbird (5 for Gmail and 6 for Thunderbird). Are these expected? It makes reading and seeing the mail problematic.

4. I think there is a problem with the way notification times are shown on Thunderbird. In the screenshot 7, you see that notification timestamp for Thunderbird is shown as 14:07. However, none of the emails shown just below have that time. Why would that be the case?

5. Lastly, even though the setting is set for Push, my emails come on average 10-25 minutes later than Gmail app itself. Is this also an expected behavior?

At first thank you for Thunderbird for Android! I have installed this App and have some questions. Even though I have enabled notifications for the app, I do not receive any notifications when new emails arrive. Is this a mistake or do I need to adjust something else? I also think there is a problem with synchronization. New emails are not retrieved on time and emails deleted in the app are not synchronized. This means that they are not deleted in the desktop program. Is there a solution to this? Best regards Jens Gerlach

Thunderbird for android is failing to synchronise data with email servers. Thunderbird for android is the exciting thing for people who prefer privacy and security as a default. But the transition from Top market email providers to thunderbird is not that smooth even after so much of testing the thunderbird android application still legs the reliability people look for a premium email client. The synchronisation with gmail and outlook servers is failing, it has to be manually synchronisation everyday or we don't get the latest emails. This is a headache for users whose work depends upon email communication and they look forward to Mozilla for a private and secure email client. Please I am a big supporter of open source and free internet but we need reliability for professional services. Please fix Regards A passionate User
