This is nothing serious, just annoying. When I go to the amazon site, the amazon search bar automatically fills with an item I searched for several years ago. I delete the item. Put in what I want to search for, which correctly sends me to those items and refills the search bar with the old item. Every page I go to on Amazon gets automatically filled with the old search item. My default setting is to clear everything when I close Firefox. If somebody has run into a similar situation and found a solution i would appreciate it. Thanks Bruce

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on Cache and Form And Search History.

Thanks, but I had those settings already. I clear out everything when I close down. It's buried somewhere. I have inspected the elements to see if I could find a clue, but saw nothing that pointed to my machine.

Sounds like your got cookie and tracking issue that is being saved in cache and not clearing out. If not your security software is preventing the removal of cookies and tracking.

Thanks. That's kind of what I was thinking. Which makes me wonder if it happened when I converted from 32 bit to 64 bit Firefox. Something carried over that shouldn't have. Anyway, I appreciate the answers. I was just wondering if someone else ran into a similar issue. As I said in my question, nothing serious, just annoying. If Amazon relied on me, it wouldn't be a billion dollar company :-}

When you switch from 32 to 64 each has their own separate folder created in different Program Files location. What you should've done was backup the 32 bit created bookmark and then uninstall all firefox and deleting the mozilla folder and then install the 64 version so that will make a clean install without problems.
