All tabs close instantly except for Tumblr tabs.
Every tab I go to close, closes instantly, apart from tabs that are on tumblr.com. They take an extra few seconds to close.
Been happening for 3 or 4 months now. Tried various things, clearing cache, resetting firefox, session etc. Disabled my userscripts and userstyles, no difference. Is there something in about:config that is causing this?
Also I switched to waterfox a week ago in favor of speed, yet the tab closing issue persists. Thanks

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
Clear the Cache Press the <Alt Key> to bring up the tool bar. Then; Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: Clear Now
and
Remove Cookies Press the <Alt Key> to bring up the tool bar. Then Tools > Options > Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. There is a button on the right side called Show Cookies.
If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the <Alt Key> to bring up the tool bar. Then Tools > Options > Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart.
Do you keep a large history?
You can check the number of history items in the History Manager (Library) if you type a common character like a colon (:) or a specific domain in the search bar in the Library. Use Ctrl+A in the right pane to select all items and see a total count.
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem
Tried all the methods in those two comments. No difference.
It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or even add / mal-ware. Look thru your add-ons list and make sure you know what each one is there for. Also, check the programs that are on your computer Windows > Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Go thru the list and use a web search to check any that you don't know what they are.
Already troubleshooted all my add-ons/scripts. No difference. It's odd that it only occurs on one website, which is a telltale sign of a script but it made no difference with the scripts removed.
Maybe there is some script running via an onbeforeunload event or other event that causes this.
is there any way I can monitor firefox's assets like a diagnostic to see what happens when I close a tumblr tab?
