Since you changed your browser format, I can't delete any of the thumbnails in my "New Tab" section. Something must be broken on your end because I haven't changed anything since you changed your format.

Do you have the Ask Toolbar installed? If you do, please remove it. 

If not, please Reset Firefox Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Do you see the close X to delete a website in one of the tiles on the about:newtab page?

Can you drag another link (history item or bookmark) to one of the nine tiles?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
