When I click on Mozilla, Explore, or any browser it always start with BING instead of google even though google is set as my home start up page. I can't figure out how to get rid of this. Can I uninstall Bing to make it go away? I'm running Windows 8.1 Thanks for any help.

It sounds like you have a third party program that has taken over your search engine, home page, and/or the default new tab page. Fortunately, this can be remedied easily:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
  3. Select the toolbar you wish to remove.
  4. Click the Remove button.
  5. Click "Restart now" if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.

After Firefox restarts, install the Search Reset Tool. This will remove the rest of the traces of this program from your Firefox.

For further information, please read Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page.

Did this fix the problem? Please let us know!

EDIT: Also right click on shortcuts for your browsers and select Properties, check the Target line under the Shortcuts tab to make sure that your shortcuts aren't being forced to open Bing.

For the life of me I can't figure it out. I'm running a new XPS8600 special and thought something was per-loaded but I UN-installed Bing in the beginning. This not a huge problem other than a well know program was installed on my machine that I am being forced to view it every time. For do that I will never look at Bing again even if it becomes a simple solution. Thank you for your good advice that can be used in the future.
