Is this with a 32 bit or 64 bit Firefox version and a version from the repositories or the Mozilla server?
Try the (32 bit) version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.
You can find the full version of the current Firefox 35.0.1 release in all languages and for all operating systems here:
You can also disable possible extensions added by your Linux distribution.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

This is mozilla firefox from xubuntu repository, here's the details: firefox 35.0.1+build amd64 I tried to reinstall the package, remove the extension xul-ext-webaccounts, and create a new profile without success. I don't know if the previous segmentation faults may be related to the recent flash security bugs CVE-2015-0313.. Anyway I checked the plugin and updated the shockwave flash plugin from 11.2.202.440 to 11.2.202.442 Now I experienced a crash of the shockwave flash plugin again, but it lets the browser and os responsive. Here are the kernel report by dmesg:
[ 1346.694353] plugin-containe[2403]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f4c2143a5fa sp 00007fffa6363a50 error 4 in libxul.so[7f4c2067b000+3d09000] [ 1638.222670] hda-intel 0000:00:1b.0: Unstable LPIB (65532 >= 32768); disabling LPIB delay counting [ 1708.324460] plugin-containe[2639]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f4ae3ca35fa sp 00007fffe586e360 error 4 in libxul.so[7f4ae2ee4000+3d09000]
and here's the new firefox crash id: bp-eb912267-97f5-498d-b642-330602150206
I don't know if disabling hardware accelaration from the adobe player could be effective.. Anyway I can't follow the guide at https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues becouse the right click context menu "Settings" of the flash player appears not clickable (disabled) Anyway I'll turn off the hardware accelaration option from the browser. Unfortunatly I haven't tested the 32 bit version from mozilla repo yet.
Thanks for your fast reply.
