I tried to have Lightning show that May 24, every year, is Queen Victoria's birthday (by showing Queen Victoria's birthday as an event). It was late at night and I was foggy-brained and told lightning that Victoria's birthday repeated daily, instead of yearly, from 1865 until the year 3000. I also instructed Lightning to play an alert the day before Victoria's birthday. When I open Lightning, it tries shows me a screen full of events, and tries to play an alert for each day from May 24 1865 until the present. This seems to foul up Lightning and Thunderbird so badly that I can't correct the errors I've made. I've disabled and removed Lightning, but, if I reinstall Lightning, it again tries to show me screens full of events and to play about a half-million alert tones. I can't correct this with System Restore because I'll lose newly-installed software that I want to keep. Disabling and removing Lightning doesn't get rid of the settings that are causing the problem. I don't know how to remove the Lightning settings except by uninstalling Thunderbird (with Revo uninstaller), and I think that would really mess up my e-mail accounts. Is there a way to remove Lightning's settings without removing all traces of Thunderbird? Lightning is an excellent add-on, except when I do really silly things to it, and I'd like to resume using Lightning. Please suggest some actions that don't involve my having a brain transplant.
