memleaks for life?
I've been using FF for ~8 years and since I've moved on to Linux, I've also been checking out it's memory usage.
Why does it always happen that when FF starts, it takes around 300 MB of memory (no page opened), but after usage, when I close and open tabs, the usages increases ever after -- 400, 550, 600, 700..... till all my 8GB is consumed.
Don't blame addons and --safe-mode etc... I've tried all those. Instead the value reduces by 100 MB and the same memleaked behavior continues.
Memcaching has been limited to 32 out of which less than 1 MB is in use. So is there any accountability for the memory usage?

You can check for issues caused by plugins and set plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page.
- plugins are not affected by Firefox Safe Mode
