Is there a way to STOP video and audio from automatically playing in Firefox?
It's very simple really *sigh* I want the choice of whether or not to play a video or listen to an audio file. I don't want them to play automaticlly.

FlashStopper add-on should do it easily for you, both Flash and HTML5.
For Flash video it's possible even without add-ons changing its preferences in Add-on manager to Ask to Activate here.
EDIT: You might try to switch media.autoplay.enabled preference in the Configuration Editor for Firefox to false to stop HTML5 media autoplay without installing any extra add-on.

I use Flash Control, to manually control the Flash player and the HTML5 Audio / Video player. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-control/
First doesnt work, makes youtube video not work at all, second doesn't work at all.
