Ask your daughter to make your user account an administrator.
She doesn't know the administrative password either and has never given anyone a computer except me. i didn't realize that there were two passwords needed to update apps!
I think this might be more of a Windows issue than a Firefox issue. You could try a forum like the following to get assistance with creating a fully privileged account on the system so you can install applications without needing to run them as the administrator.
