I have a mac book pro. when searching for websites by the address with fire fox, my browser goes to it and then quickly goes to https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/errorhandler?hspart=gt&hsimp=yhse-gt&q=http%3A%2F%2Fstatic.jibjabcdn.com%2Fassets%2Fimages%2Fget-app-poster&type=997063. I have tried everything I can think of, even turning off yahoo search engine to no avail. It does not happen when I use Safari, but I prefer the speed of fire fox. I have never even heard of a BrowserBar Network Error Assistant. It is doing this even though the address is correct. Its like Yahoo is trying to control where I can go and it driving me nuts. I have enough people trying to control me in real life and DO NOT NEED THE INTERNET PUTTING ITS TWO CENTS IN. Please, can anyone tell me how to stop it, or do I have to give up on fire fox?

Do you have an extension like Spigot Searchme or have Spigot software installed?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (3-bar Menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: 3-bar Menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
