I never had problems with firefox from the time i first installed it - like 6 years ago .

But yesterday it stopped working suddenly, web pages were not loading (other browsers worked), and when i closed it it crashed with reference to msvcrt120.dll or ntdll.dll .

I had to go back to older version of firefox which works fine .

So now I'am on older FF version .

I tried to reinstall the newest version, uninstalled, deleted all Mozilla AppData . installed newest version, disabled firewalls, etc ... but nothing helped --- it was simply not working .

The webpages were not loading - like it could not connect to internet at all. And when i closed it, then it crashed with the message "Firefox stopped working" or something similiar .

I think something is ___VERY___ wrong with the latest FF version . Fix it asap please .

Hmm, you deleted your profile folders from the time that Firefox was crashing? That might make it impossible to research the cause of the crashes, but I'll mention this anyway:

If you were getting the Mozilla Crash Reporter form, your Firefox may have logged some data that would help track down the cause of the problem. You can submit that data to Mozilla and share it with forum volunteers to see whether it points to the solution. Please check the support article "Firefox crashes - asking for support" for steps to get those crash report IDs from the about:crashes page, and then post some of the recent ones here.

But if the crash report only relates to a problem exiting (shutdown hang), then that probably wouldn't provide much more information than you already know.

For future reference: Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can

Did you want to try the Firefox Safe Mode test from the other thread you recently posted in?

In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement? (More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode)

I don't have it installed anymore . But I filled at least 2 crashl reports after FF crashed .

But I'am telling you --- this is some grave issue in firefox source code . You should look into this ASAP .

I'm not sure I need to tell you this, but there's a lot of source code and a good sized backlog of different crashes the developers have on their "to do" list.

Your crash reports may be helpful in chasing down the specific problem if it happens again. But there's no way to share them with us without the crash report IDs.

I will try again when new version of FF comes out . Until then I'am back to Chrome browser .
