I allowed the upgrade of 18/19 February to install itself and then found that all of my previous emails and local folders had disappeared. My Profile shows only the current installation. Is there any way to recover the original profile and restore the missing files.

Thanks for help Matt but my original profile has gone forever. All I can find is the new one which was established a couple of days ago.

installing and uninstalling does not affect the profile folder as such. Therefore an update did not delete the profile folder and all it's contants. That is not to say disk corruption or other even has not removed it.

When you type %appdata% in the start menu and then select the Thunderbird folder followed by the profiles folder. I thee really only one folder there?

The only folders which show under the profile are: Adblock plus;calendar data;crashes;extensions, lwtheme ;Mail and minidumps.

Mail folder contains Local Folders plus POP3.iinet.net.au. Local folders are all as recently established by me and are listed as 'folder' and 'folder.msp' ( for each entry).

POP3 contains 'trash.sbd'.

Thanks again for your time,Matt.
