Password not accepted. tried 4 times on 2 different computers. Yes, I am using the correct password, "authenitcation failed".
Can't log-in. Each time get "authentication failed" message. Password is correct, tried on multiple computers, other email accounts all work fine.

Could be one of several causes. As a start, leave Thunderbird closed and try to log in to the misbehaving account via the email provider's website. Is it working normally? If it is, then (assuming you have a Windows computer) restart the computer in safe mode with networking. While it is in that state, start Thunderbird and try to access the account.
Amanchesterman, Thank you for your response. I tried it as you described. Can log-in to the email host no difficulty. I have a Mac OS 10.10.4. Did not make any difference in ability to log-in, still cannot. Continue to get the same "authentication failed" message. I'm open to other possibilitites if you have more suggestions.
