Running windows 10. Outlook is not installed. How do I get my contacts from the People app into the Thunderbird address book?

Originally had Windows live email program. I switched to Thunderbird and removed the Windows Live email program. Now my contacts are shown in the People app, but not in the Thunderbird address book. Is it possible to import the contacts from the people app to Thunderbird? Or do I need to install Outlook or Windows live that I can export the contacts from there?
