thunderbird hanging up
Thunderbird hanging up on Hitting "J" for junk or just junk coming into inbox 1st before it xfers to the Junk File.Also hangs up when deleting items.I just went into SAFE MODE and it just hung up after hitting"J" on a email for over 1 minute.This has been happening for months.I've been using Thunderbird for 2+ years.I switched a couple of months ago to the beta channel:53.0b2 32bit right now and I'm running win 8.1 64bit dell 87 XPS i7 4770 3.4ghz 32g ram.Any ideas out there? OH I also did the global file delete then restarted Thunderbird but no change there
TRIED TO SEND FILE BUT WOULDN'T ACCEPT ANY FILE TYPE I TRIED

I have no idea what this is. Do you mean Compact Folders? Please describe in detail.
One of the fixes was RE:profile .you go to>help> trouble shooting >profile folder-click on open folder >close Thunderbird>on default folder find global-messages file>delete it....then you reopen TB and that's suppose to, with your profile,fix hanging up BUT it didn't work(ie:the file re- populates)so that was what I did along with everything else you read

You have emptied Trash and Junk folders, using Right+click or File menu?
of course I constantly am clearing trash&junk(sort of anal re that lol)I have 2 email addresses on TB and both are done all the time

Windows search was enabled,I disabled it....Google was not
I'll wait and see if that helps..thks
Removing the "Windows Search Option(unchecking it) from the link you sent me has seemed to fix the problem! YEAH, this really annoying thanks for your help
