The new tab page changed and all I have are 8 of my pins left! Where did all of my pins go and how do I change it all back?

I used to be able to customize the new tab page and I had several more than just 8 pinned. That option is gone as well.

There isn't a lot of built-in customization for the page, so if you were able to do a lot to it before, you might have been using the add-on New Tab Tools.

The New Tab Tools extension is undergoing an extreme makeover to become compatible with later versions of Firefox that have different restrictions on what add-ons can do. During the transition, you may find that some features of the add-on are missing for a while.

The developer suggested one thing to try if it just doesn't seem to be working at all, which is to run the "purgecaches" command at your next startup. Here's how:

(1) Completely exit out of Firefox

(2) Enter (paste) the following command-line into either the Windows Run dialog, or the Windows search box, and press Enter to execute it:

for 32-bit Firefox on 64-bit Windows -- this includes you:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -purgecaches

for 32-bit Firefox on 32-bit Windows:

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -purgecaches

for 64-bit Firefox on 64-bit Windows:

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -purgecaches

Firefox should start normally after clearing the JavaScript cache.

Does that help?
