I have a window coming up asking me to "add security exception" the veiw certificate indicates it is suspect ... but I can't get rid of it and no mail in or ou
I can not receive or send emails because of this window that keeps coming up ... it says can't confirm identity some my be trying to take over this site ... can you please fix this problem or tell me how to or how to delete this Thunderbird account as it is of little use if it can't send or receive emails.

So, who hosts your bobcrain.com.au account? What advice do they give about email server settings? Does your contract with them provide for an SSL certificate using your domain name?
I guess it is set to use STARTTLS? Ordinarily, port 143 suggests a non-secure connection where certificates wouldn't be used or even needed, so the fact that it's complaining about a certificate suggests it has switched to a secured connection.
I'd use the "view" option to see the details of the server, then use network lookup tools (ping, traceroute, whois, nslookup etc) to see if that server is owned by the webhost. If so, I'd permit it as an exception.
