While attempting to move the profile file from my PC to replace the one in my new Mac, I forgot to turn off Thunderbird during the process. Now I can't open Thunderbird at all, getting the "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible" message. Nor can I find the T-bird folders on the Mac to fix them that way.

I also attempted a clean uninstall/reinstall with both Firefox and T-bird with the same results. Attempts to find the proper T-bird folder on the Mac have failed. Finder Help pull down menu does NOT list "Troubleshooting Information" to enable me to find the profile folder location.

I have access to both my PC and the Mac T-bird profile folders, but where do I put them to get T-bird going again?

Thanks

You need to look in Thunderbird's help for the troubleshooting information, not in your file manager.

In an unknown environment, I would just install and run Thunderbird allowing it to create a new empty profile. Then you can locate this new empty profile and doing this will show you where to put the transplanted files.

The profiles.ini file from Windows might not be quite suitable for the mac. I don't know for sure as I don't use Apple computers. Also, in Windows and Linux it is easy to make hidden folders visible. I gather this is non-trivial on the Macintosh.
