Since an automatic update Firefox i get a "new tab" that just sits there. can't get to anything else inc. options

Since then, nothing but a blank "new tab". I see my favorites but clicking on them does nothing. typing in URL does nothing. Clicking on "options" does nothing.

You could be seeing this bug:

  • bug 1433065 - Firefox 58 is not loading any pages (including about: pages)

You can try the current 59.0 beta build to see if that solves the problem for you: *https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/beta/all/
