Apparently, zoho automatically copies sent messages to the Sent folder, so you should uncheck 'Place a copy in' in the Copies & Folders section for the account in Tools/Account Settings.
https://www.zoho.com/mail/help/using-folders.html
https://help.zoho.com/portal/community/topic/getting-duplicate-messages-saved-to-sent-folder
Right-click the account in Account Settings, Subscribe, click Refresh, and see if the Sent folder is checked (subscribed).
A user reports in the forum thread that it can take up to 10 min. for the sent mail to synchronize.
Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately that is not my problem, I unchecked "Place a copy" already and the problem remains. There is no activity in the "Activity Manager", when I sync the sent folder, it seems like Thunderbird does not have this folder implemented in its folder structure. But nevertheless all my sent messages show up on my webmail, just not in Thunderbird, so it is not such a huge problem, more an inconvenience.
So, you can subscribe to Sent but it doesn't display any messages in TB? Do you have to enable something like 'Show in IMAP' for Sent on the zoho webmail settings, as you do with e.g. gmail?
All the folders are set to "show in IMAP client" (see screenshot)
If you right-click Sent, Properties, Repair Folder, does it have any effect? This should rebuild the index by re-downloading the folder contents.
No, the Repair folder function has no effect, again no activity in the Activity Manager. By clicking on the other folders (Inbox, Drafts, Template, etc) a tiny blue spinning circle appears for a second or two, on the sent folder there is nothing happening. I´ll consult the issue with the zoho-mail support and come back to you. Thank you for your support!
