Firefox Monitor Email Confirmation

more options

This is more of a suggestion perhaps, but I signed up for Firefox Monitor today and was disappointed that I could only link email address that I can actively confirm. I understand the desire for confirmation based on the active monitor and alert functions built into Monitor, but if the data is being openly sourced from Have I Been Pwned (so it's obviously not a privacy concern).

The issue I have stems from two older email addresses I have (work emails) that I no longer have access to that I cannot confirm. They are both linked to breaches, and I would like the ability to see this on my Monitor account. Seems like there should be some functionality to default route these alerts to your primary email until they are confirmed.

That's all! Happy Wednesday, world.

Hi samhouston78, hmm, if the site is going to send reports to the affected addresses, it's a good anti-spam practice to verify the addresses.

However, there is an option to send all the alerts to the primary address of your Firefox Account, so at least in theory, that might justify not having to prove ownership of the others.

I think this is a new-ish feature of Monitor so it certainly could evolve further. I'm not sure of the best place to give feedback --

Possibly through the "Issues" section here: https://github.com/mozilla/blurts-server/

Or in the bug tracking system (these are the Firefox Monitor bugs so far): https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?component=Firefox%20Monitor
