With v71 the about:config page doesn't display the full entries anymore instead you have to click on show all, putting unnecessary wear on mice. Is there a way to reset this to the old behavior where the entries are shown by default?

That worked like a charm. Thanks

Add the URL found below to your bookmarks for quick access to the about:config page.

I'm glad to hear that it works.

I'll bookmark that and try it myself.

Usually it will be faster to type a bit of the preference name in the search box to surface the matching part of the list rather than loading the whole list. No?

Yes which is in effect what I do when I know what I'm looking for but if I only have a hunch what may be wrong having the full list is preferable.

It's not a world ending change but it adds friction for the users that needn't be there. Especially since the user that goes into the about:config has the wherewithal to know what they are doing 95% of the time.

I wholeheartedly agree that the full listing is preferable to the 'new' UI.

Thanks to My_Cheese_ for finding that article and posting it here.

Old habits die hard, I guess.

What I find creepy about the new html is copying a Name. I'm concerned that I'll change the value and I have to pay extra attention that I don't.

You can press the Tab key once to set focus to the Show All button and press the space bar or enter key to click the button and display the list. Typing * and press Enter also seems to work you can use * as a wildcard search: brow*url -> browser.urlbar).
