I like Firefox, it's a nice browser and I use it because of the browser policy on privacy and because I like to UI, Firefox decided to make the default search engine Yahoo, (I really don't like how Yahoo finds Searches, and its ads) I shouldn't care much because I can just change the search engine in options, except I can't, I change the default to google, but when I search something it still brings up Yahoo. This is annoying but maybe I could live it by just directly going to google to search stuff, except that doesn't even work when I go to google directly! I am just going to assume this is a bug, but if this is intentional, I don't think I have seen something so petty, so horrible as this to force people to use a search engine they don't want to. I don't like any other browsers other then Firefox but I also don't want to use Yahoo so if there isn't a solution, I guess I will stop using Firefox which is sad because I really like Firefox, but I can't support it if its blocking a search engine I want to use. If there is a solution to this please tell. Thanks!

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; (<Control> [Mac=<Command>] <Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove “ Yahoo “ Anything.

Also remove SafeSearch, SearchAssist Incognito, FileConverter Addon, SearchLock, DiscreteSearch, WebSearch, Findwide Search Engine, securedsearch

Now do the same in the computer’s Programs Folder.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the Applications folder. Linux: Check your user manual.
