Search Box
I had a Firefox Update earlier today.
When I brought up the Firefox Home page and typed in a search term eg E Bay. It went to the top of the page instead of staying in the main search box in the middle of the page as it normally is. How do I return to the previous system where I can click on the arrow to the right of the box which was in the middle of the page.
Thank you
Derek

Hi Derek, there is a preference for this:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste handoff and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar preference to switch the value from true to false
Success?
More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox.

Success. Thanks jscher. You're a gem.
When these updates come up they just happen. you can't stop them. So when you start work. And notice something different to the norm you want to go back to how things were. Thanks again
I've taken a screenshot of your reply in case it happens aain. I'll know what to do. Thanks
