Hi

The very best way to do this is to contact your internet service provider - they should be able to help you with this.

That route will not work, already tried. I need something like a check-box or line-input to block a URL or IP address in my Browser.

Win-XP & Win-7 in a windows file I could add 127.0.0.(IP Address) to block the wanted URL. A shortcut on my desktop was quickly inserted & saved. But alas, that files not accessible.

Passing on info, I got this similar fact right to the horse's mouth. Got asked Microsoft support a question and lo-n-be-hold Bill Gates responded. He said, (paraphrase) While one URL can be blocked a Server can but will not divulge how. If it got out how we would eventually be no internet since everyone will block everyone else.(/paraphrase)

Hi

Just to clarify, is your question about Firefox for Android, or Firefox on a desktop or laptop computer?

PC and Android, the issue is universal.

As for the 127.0.0.(IP#), I found that answer, it can be ignored.

There is no way that I am aware of to completely block a site in Firefox for Android. I do know that my internet service provider can block sites and does provide me with the tools to do so.

There may be a way to block a site in a Windows copy of Firefox, however there is a very real chance that it could be circumvented by a user with access to the device.

I'm giving up on this. It's obvious Mozilla/Firefox has no solution. Best I can do now is start using a different Browser. REALLY SUX since the amount of adverts & video adverts that's loading is EATING UP MY PAID BANDWIDTH and there's currently no recourse to recoup that loss. IF a lot of people would start BLOCKING these websites they'll eventually cut way back or go defunct. We're paying for PROGRAMS not Adverts. . The Win-XP (thru) 10, HOST file is what I'm using for PC. Adding a line will block a website. Works like a charm.

Yes, that may work on Windows, but not on Firefox for Android.

You could use the uBlock add-on to block page content in Firefox for Android.
