Setting a default download manager (Firefox Android)
I'm well aware that I can chose a download manager when downloading a file, but, as I end up downloading files very often and typically one after the other it can get particularly annoying.
Is it possible to set a default download manager so I don't have to interact with a popup all the time, and, if no such option exists will one be implemented in the future?

Hi,
The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or developers. If you want to leave feedback for developers, you can go to this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.
You can also file a bug report or feature request. See File a bug report or feature request for Mozilla products for details.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm aware I can leave feedback and suggest features for Mozilla products but my question remains unanswered. I asked if it was possible to set a default download manager for Firefox on Android devices rather than choosing the download manager with each download I perform. Yes I may have made a suggestion but that doesn't mean the question should go unanswered. If the answer is no to my question then sometimes saying no is all it takes.
Sorry if this comes across as rude as it is not my intention but I expect at least a direct response to my question.

Yes, I believe that you can set another app as your default download manager, but this is a setting in Android, rather than in Firefox for Android.
Unfortunately that is not the case, upon starting a download Firefox asks if I would like to perform the download with Firefox or with any download manager I currently have installed. If there is such option I'd assume it would be in about:config but I have idea if such an option exists and if so what it is even called.
If Firefox is asking you if you want to use a different download manager, I cannot see the problem that you are having here...?
Say I was to navigate to google images and long press any image to save it and then click save image, typically Firefox would download it and save it to the downloads folder by default. This is fine but sometimes files are large and the downloads start to stack on one another and network speeds slow to a crawl. My solution to this is to use a download manager.
Any time I start a download from within Firefox I get to chose if I want Firefox to download it itself or if I want to send the download to my download manager. Instead of getting a choice I would like to send the download to the manager by default rather than having to make a selection every time.
In short, I would like to skip the prompt as shown in the image and direct the download to ADM by default.
When you select ADM, do you get asked to always use this app for downloads (an Android message)?
No. Is that the intended behavior?
Normally, when offered a choice of anything in Android, you have the opportunity to select it as the default or use it just that once.
It may be worthwhile removing ADM, restarting your device and reinstalling it then using it to see if it triggers that choice.
The option to chose which download manager I'd like to use is part of Firefox, not Android itself. As such reinstalling would not make a difference. And neither would a restart (confirmed as nothing has changed since I did one).
This may be something that you will have to file a feature request for with our developers.
