I have unchecked "Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account" on the Account Settings/Junk Settings page.

I have unchecked "Enable adaptive junk filter logging" on the Global Junk Preferences/Security/Junk popup.

But messages still keep being placed in a mailbox called SPAM.

I don't want any messages sent to any boxes except my inbox. I don't care who or what tool thinks they are SPAM. I want them in my inbox.

What do I do to make this happen?

To my knowledge, Thunderbird doesn't use a folder called SPAM. That may be something that your email host is doing.
