Can't get my old Profile to work
I have a new installation of Windows and want to get my old Profile attached to my new installation of Thunderbird. In the past, I have done it multiple times on various new computers but can't seem to get it working this time.
My old setup (and what I want on the new one, too) was:
- I had multiple email accounts set up on Thunderbird within the same Profile - my Profile was stored on my D: Drive (to save space)
I have installed a fresh copy of Thunderbird onto D Drive. I have copied my old Profiles folder (from C:/Users...) to the new Thunderbird folder on my C drive
When I then open Thunderbird, it asks to set up a new email again and no sign of my old Profiles. I'm missing something and I'm pretty sure it has to do with my old Profile being on the D drive (and that's where I still want it)

If the profile you copied was the current one, then the profiles.ini will be in sync with it. This is not unusual when the profile itself is not on drive c. However, since you know which profile to use, just click help>troubleshootinginformation, scroll to 'profile folder', click 'about:profile', click 'create profile', click next, enter a name for the profile, e.g., PROFILE, and then click the browse button to locate and select the profile you placed on drive d and then accept.

check the profiles.ini file at c:\users\<yourid>\appdata\roaming\thunderbird. That is a text file that identifies where the profile is stored.
I have copied my old Profiles.ini here but now I get a message that it is trying to use a Profile from an older Thunderbird. The data is from November 11th. I've been trying to get it to work since then! (Yes, I know there are a lot of old, unused Profiles listed)
