Cannot type inside Firefox
Randomly while using Firefox and other applications; when switching back to Firefox (doesn't matter if its 5 minutes later or hours later); it will not accept any input from the keyboard. I always use the CTRL+K shortcut for search or CTRL+L for the URL box, but Firefox will not respond to those commands. Additionally, I always leave a Google.com tab open, and even with that I can't type in the search box on www.google.com. It doesn't matter what keys I'm pressing on the keyboard, or what website I'm looking at, Firefox ignores any keyboard input. The only way I know that I can fix this is to double-click inside the URL box or SEARCH box. This is very annoying as I know this didn't happen before, this issue started sometime after some version of 3.x.
I'm very efficient with using the Keyboard so I minimize the use of the mouse, and work around the computer using the keyboard most of the time. I run WinXP Pro SP3, on a dual-core Intel machine. This is at work, however I have admin rights so I can install software.

Hello Ketan.
When it happens that your typing and Firefox doesn't recognize your input, is the character maker blinking or is it not present at all? If it's blinking, it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in safe mode (don't forget to select Disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See this article for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme and this one for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
