IE8 cannot download Firefox file. It does not give me the Run/Download option, it just attempts to open it initially and stops before it gets to this screen. (It also does the same thing for MSN Explorer when I tried that instead and won't save any of my IE settings, Windows problem not Firefox)

I think that I need to change a setting on the computer or on Internet Explorer in order to download anything. It's not a case of where to download from.

Try downloading "Firefox Setup 3.6.8.exe" from the following page:

http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.8/win32/en-US/

If clicking on the download link does not work, try right-clicking on it and choosing "Save Target As" instead.

I see you have just updated your original question, it is better to reply to an answer rather than update the original question, it makes it easier to see the updates.

Since the problem is with IE, you would be better off asking in a forum that specializes in Microsoft products. You can try asking in the Internet Explorer forum at Eileen's Lounge.

Instead of clicking "Run", try "Save" then run it from your desktop
