I cannot download Firefox. Won't move icon to my MacBook dock

I have Mac OS X. When I download Firefox it tells me to drag icon down to the dock, but the dock rejects the icon.

Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly.
Open the DMG file and drag to Firefox program to the application folder on your hard drive.
You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the disk image, but drag it out of the DMG folder instead.
