after installing microsoft.net firefox will not open (error platform version 1.9.2.8 not compatable with 1.9.2.10)
i try to open the application as usual but i get an error message from XUL runner see troubleshoot below and the application does not run at all.. on restarting the computer, the problem does not resolve itself

Re-installing Firefox should fix this.
- Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/
- Uninstall your current version of Firefox, do not select the option "Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations"
- Delete the Firefox installation directory, default location on 32 bit Windows is C:\Program files\Mozilla Firefox
- Install Firefox again
Doing the above will not remove your Firefox use data such as bookmarks, but to be safe you should back them up first. For details see Profile backup - MozillaZine Knowledge Base
