why does windows media player 11 plug in never appear in firefox after I install it, I am trying to play a video that says I have this plug in missing.

I sometimes get a blank video player frame saying I need a plug in. FF plug in finder tells me I must manually install Windows Media Player 11. I have done this many times but the plug in never appears in FF.

Your More system details list show the WMP plugin (np-mswmp), so that should be working.
