System is Ubuntu 10.04, running Firefox RC4 which was updated to Firefox 5.0

Sync was set up when it was still RC4, but now when I access Edit Preferences and go to the Sync tab there is a button there which says Set Up Firefox Sync. Clicking on that button doesn't do anything.

It's not syncing either when I click Sync Now on the Tools menu. I have added bookmarks to my other computers and they are not showing up on this one.

If you see Sync Now in your Tools drop down but Set Up Firefox Sync in your preferences, I presume that you are using the Firefox Sync Extension. If so, make sure that you remove it.

The feature is built in on Firefox 5 and having the add-on installed can cause malfunctions.

No, I'm not using the sync extension, that went when Firefox 4 came out. It's been built in since Firfox 4 and I had it set up and working. I was prompted to upgrade to 5 by the Firefox program itself, did so, and now sync is broken. But only on that computer.

I'm using the same version of ubuntu on this computer, with the same upgrade to 5 from RC4, and it works on this one.

Thanks for the input anyway.
