So, you are having problems with Java 7 update 9 in Firefox? You said "until your security issues on Java were implements worked flawlessly and better than any other browser service..." I don't know what you mean. Java security updates are from java.com (Oracle) not Mozilla.

In case it helps, I downgraded from Java 7 to Java 6 awhile back for security reasons and I'm now running Java 6 Update 37, which is the latest Java 6 and has all current security patches. (I'll eventually switch back to Java 7 once Java 6 is no longer supported). Except for a few of the links loading slowly, I don't see any issues on the page you mentioned. Hopefully someone with Java 7 u9 will be along and test the links but you could try uninstalling Java 7 and installing Java 6. More on Java here:

1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox location bar (that's where you enter your website names) and press Enter. You should now see a list of submitted crash reports.
2. Copy the most recent 5 report IDs that you see in the crash report window and paste them into your forum response.

Also, Firefox 16.0 is not the current version and is insecure. See http://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html

Unless you have reasons for using an older version despite the vulnerabilities, you should update Firefox to the latest version, currently 17.0.1.

Down grading is not an option at school (work), I do not control Active Directory installs. Version 7u9 is supposedly fixed, the problem is using the plugin for Mozilla and the coding in Mozilla added to avoid the bad JRE codes...all pages work well with Internet Explorer (they did not run at all formerly).

Mozilla freezes for several minutes...it is even slow at home with version 17.0.1 and Windows 7 Pro (Even some problems in my Win8 Pro machine). I sent a link with sites which cause the freezing or slow down. I have preferred Mozilla Products since the early Netscape products...

BTW, Oracle is stopping support of 6 soon, in what I read on their site.

Win8 is waiting for 7 u12 to fix all problems.

I would try restarting Firefox in Safe Mode to see if the freezes stop with all extensions disabled, since extensions have been known to cause hangs in Firefox when using Java (bugzilla ref.) . If that doesn't help and you have the time and energy, you could file a bug report at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

Yes, according to the Java 6 FAQ page, Oracle will no longer post Java 6 updates to its public download sites after February 2013. I'll be forced to switch back to Java 7 at some point afterwards, to keep secure.

I am not allowed extensions of the type you are talking about, the district servers block many banners and adds before they enter the intranet of the district...BTW, the district hosts the files which are slowing the system down only in Mozilla...

The problems at home on Win7 and Win8 are about 5-10 secs...

I finally got rid of most errors in 17.0.1, but now I have 18.0 and Java 7 u 10

Java DOES NOT WORK in firefox. PERIOD.

Since FF 16 or 17 and the buzz around the latest Java 7 Security issues that FF has lost it.

I'm using IE to render JAVA pages. FF just HANGS. When it responds (minutes after the page was requested) it just presents an empty java applet. NOTE: No JAVA LOADING animation is presented. Nothing happens.

IE renders everything lightning fast! I never thought i would say this, but i'm really considering moving to IE after more than a decade using FF!!!!
