firefox 19 updated and freezes
Firefox automatically updated itself to version 19, now I can open the browser but whenever I go to open a new page or click on anything the top of the browser goes grey and I cant do anything, all my icons, tabs etc are grey and cannot be clicked on. I have to use control panel to close the page. Have tried re-installing and it still does the same.

What happens with Firefox safe mode? Maybe an extension is acting up, or maybe hardware acceleration is causing problems.

What happens with Firefox safe mode? Maybe an extension is acting up, or maybe hardware acceleration is causing problems.
A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
